Content conversion (MAPI --> Mime) memory and performance issues in Ex2007
Good day. We have a rather fresh Exchange 2007 implementation serving a few hundred Entourage users. The Entourage clients are served through our two client access servers in NLB. Entourage clients require MIME format and the continuously happening content conversion is known to cause some trouble. The Microsoft knowledge base article talking the issue doesn't mention Exchange 2007. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329067 Our disk latencies areok (under 10 ms on avg.)so far but I'm afraid the real problem could just be masked bylarge database caches and SAN disk array caching. Overall client experience is fine. Some Outlook minority users aren't complaining either but average RPC latencies sometimes stay rather long in 50-100 ms area. However MSExchange OWAAppPool has crashed couple of times. The proccess belonging to the said application pool uses 350 MB memory at most. Anyone knowif the memory reserved for content conversion can be adjusted in Exchange 2007? Ifso which would bethe correct way. Exchange 2007 doesn't have the registry keys mentioned in the kb article. In Exchange 2003 the issue was most often solved by adding this value: MaximumResponseSizeInBytes to this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeWEB\DAV Additional information can be found at the following link, although no Exchange 2007 specific tips. http://www.macwindows.com/041107d.html
